Outline schedule and route
Penny Farthing End-to-End outline schedule – I departed Land’s End at 6am on Saturday 20th July. Great weather conditions mean that at 8pm I am well ahead of the outline schedule below.

I plan to starting riding at 6am each morning with the intention of finishing each day at 10pm.

Day 1 – Saturday 20th July
Lands End to Burnham on Sea – 174 miles – 8075 ft climbing
- A30 to Exeter
- B3181 through Cullompton
- A38 through Wellington and Taunton to Burnham on Sea
Day 2 – Sunday 21st July
Burnham on Sea to Wigan (Standish) – 200 miles – 6075 ft climbing
- A38 to Bristol, Gloucester, Worcester
- A449 to Kidderminster, Wolverhampton, Stafford
- A34 to Stoke
- A50 to Holmes Chapel, Knutsford, Warrington
- A573 Wigan
- A49 Standish
Day 3 – Monday 22nd July
Wigan (Standish) to Carnwath – 179 miles – 6425 ft climbing

- A6 Garstang, Lancaster, Carnforth, Kendal, Shap, Penrith, Carlisle
- Minor road by M6 to Gretna

Carnwath to Inverness (North Kessock) – 174 miles – 6550 ft climbing

Inverness (North Kessock) to John O’Groats – 117 miles – 4725 ft climbing

We would love to have people to support us on the route – however it is important to note that the Guiness World Record rules strictly forbid “pacing” which they define as riding before or alongside.
